Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets

DUBAI (92 News) – Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by five wickets in the 20th match of Pakistan Super League 2019 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed smashed 33 runs off 25 balls with two boundaries and six to ease Karachi Kings’ 134 run-chase after an initial stutter.

Shaheen Afridi’s exclusion from back-to-back games in the playing-11 has adversely impacted Qalandars’ bowling attack.

Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets, while David Wiese, Yasir Shah and Haris Rauf picked one each. Kings chased the score in 19.1 overs.

First Innings

Karachi Kings opted to bowl first and restricted Lahore Qalandars to 133 runs in the second fixture. AB de Villiers with his 33 runs innings off 32 balls remained the highest scorer for the Qalandars. While Sohail Akhtar contributed unbeaten 29 runs in the death overs of the innings.
