LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar paid a surprise visit to Sheikh Zayed Hospital on Saturday.
He reprimanded the Director Emergency for treating two patients on a bed. Justice Ejazul Hassan also accompanied him.
Earlier, the CJP listened to the complaints of people outside Lahore Registry.
Later, he also visited Doctors Hospital and inspected emergency, wards, laboratory and canteen.
Patients complained about unavailability of an elevator to go to the basement. They said that everything at the canteen was being sold at exorbitant rates.
He himself paid for a bottle of water, which was later handed over to his staff for examination. The CJP said that patients visiting hospital are not landowners.
He expressed his indignation at unavailability of the rate list for expenses of medical treatment.
On the complaint of a woman, the CJP ordered to provide 100 percent free medical treatment to the complainant.
The CJP asked the medical superintendent why free medical treatment is not being provided as per law.
