Dispute on bike theft: Armed clash leaves six dead in Rajanpur

RAJANPUR: At least six persons left dead and 11 others received serious wounds following an armed clash between two groups over a dispute of bike theft in Punjab’s Rajanpur, ARY News reported on Sunday.

A crowd of outrage people blocked National Highway along with five dead bodies, demanding the authorities to arrest the responsible persons in the brutal killings.

The incident took place in Rujhan tehsil of the district a day ago, whereas, one among 11 injured persons was also succumbed to wounds soaring the death toll to seven.

Following the killings, the protestors gathered at the National Highway with dead bodies and demanded the government to initiate operation in the katcha area against dacoits creating troubles for local residents.

However, the demonstration bears no fruit so far as no high-level from the government reached at the site to meet the protestors.

On March 26, three people had been gunned down and four other sustained bullet injuries over matrimonial dispute in Rajanpur district of Punjab.

The incident took place in Lakha Basti of Rajanpur where two groups met an armed clash, resulting in death of three and wounds to four others.

After getting the information about the clash, the police and rescue teams had reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to the District Hospital Rajanpur.

The police said deceased include Majeed, who contracted marriage of his choice with a girl namely Farzana, three years ago, his mother and an attacker.
