Presidential candidates can withdraw their candidature till 12pm today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The presidential candidates can withdraw their candidature until 12pm today (on Thursday).

As per details, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will publish final list of candidates for presidential election at 1pm. According to ECP, candidates can withdraw their candidature by 12 noon today.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr Arif Alvi, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman are in the run for the presidential election to be held on September 4.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza had accepted nomination papers of all the three candidates contesting presidential election.

Dr Arif Alvi of PTI, PML-N backed Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan of PPP are the main contenders in presidential election to be held on Tuesday (September 4). PPP has decided that it would not withdraw its presidential candidate Ahsan.
